Announcing the next club…

The 1925 Club has been a joy! What a fun time, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the reading weeks. As ever, I am quite behind with updating my reviews page and reading all of your posts, but bear with me…

And, of course, Karen and I are instantly thinking about next time. We didn’t want to linger too close to 1925, and we have jumped to a very promising year. So here is your six-month warning for the 1961 Club!

1961 Club badge: a library from the 1960s, with the dates 13-19 April 2026 and The 1961 Club overlaid.

Thanks so much for hosting the 1925 club. I also have to visit more of the many reviews posted.

This is funny: I had just told myself I was going to read less books for blogging events in 2026, and you choose 1961. There were 12 books in my TBR published in 1961!!
Well, i did manage to reduce it to 9 titles. And they are in my TBR, one major thing I want to tackle, so see you next April!

Simon, you missed my review of Bread Givers for the 1925 Club! Unless you’re still catching up! I know I listed it in comments. Well, let me check, but I don’t think I could have missed doing that.

Great, I’m really enjoying reading the 60’s at the moment! Thanks for the 1925 Club, and my introduction to Dos Passos!

Thanks for hosting #1925Club, though I didn’t read as many as I would’ve liked.
Can’t wait to next April! I’ve started sorting books (quite many candidates, but some of them aren’t available -_-).

Many thanks as ever for co-hosting these events with Karen – they’re always such fun, and it’s fascinating to see the diversity of books published in a single year!

I’m really looking forward to a return to the ’60s with 1961, which looks like another very interesting year!

‘The Wretched of the Earth’ by Franz Fanon is a good shout for 1961
