Thank you so much for all your questions for episode 150 of ‘Tea or Books?’!
Because we had so many questions, we’re doing it over two episodes – so today’s is the first half. Watch out for part 2, next month.
You can support the podcast at Patreon – where you’ll also get access to the exclusive new series ‘5 Books’, where I ask different people about the last book they finished, the book they’re currently reading, the next book they want to read, the last book they bought and the last book they were given. More to come soon.
And, of course, do get in touch at teaorbooks@gmail.com with any questions or comments – we still need questions for the middle sections of future episodes, of course!

Thank you for a very entertaining episode; the questions were excellent – the ones I never knew I really wanted answered!
One extra question from me – I was desperately trying to scribble down some of the titles you mentioned; is there a book list or will that accompany part 2?
Thanks Sarah! And I’m sorry, this is the one ep I couldn’t face doing that for :D partly because there were so many, and partly because I didn’t have time to edit it, so I just did some light dusting and put it out…
Yes, I realise there were a lot of books and a list would have been a lot of additional work even after all your hard work in collating questions and doing the episode with Rachel. I managed to relisten and note the title I didn’t quite catch (the Misreading of Scripture was the one that especially piqued my interest. I had not heard of that book before but it sounds enlightening).
Misreading Scripture with Western Eyes! It’s so good – it was free on Audible when I listened to it. There’s another called Misreading Scripture with Individualist Eyes by one of the same authors, with a different co-author, and that was also good but covered a lot of the same ground.
It is right up there on my wish list! Thanks Simon
Hi Simon, absolutely love the podcast as always, but for some reason it isn’t showing up on my Spotify. Not a problem for me really as I’ve been listening on here, but I often tell book friends to check out all the episodes on Spotify. I don’t know if it’s just my phone playing up! Keep up the brilliant work, you’re costing me a fortune :))
Oo thanks for flagging, I had forgotten to add the category tag. Hopefully will show up soon!
Yay! It’s now showing on Spotify. Thank you so much Simon, have a great weekend! :)
I have never watched a film of a Jane Austen novel. I have read her books many times & I know what these people look like so feel certain that a filmed version would only annoy me. The movies / telly productions will have cut some bits, even gone so far as to change some bits … I could not bear it.

Ah, fair enough! Since I have no visual imagination, I have no thoughts about what they look like, so that does make it easier for me to enjoy them.
