A quick note, to say that my weekend of novella reading has been great fun, although my eyes are aching quite a lot at the moment… I managed to read seven novellas, which isn’t bad going since I didn’t read in the mornings on either day (church today; accidental lie-in on Saturday) and didn’t speed read any of them, or anything horrible like that. Lots of variety, and I loved most of them – except the most famous. But more on that throughout the next week or so, as I have plenty of fodder for reviews!
Whilst I’m making quick notes, I will mention that I’ve retrospectively added a couple of books to my 50 Books You Must Read But May Not Have Heard About list – it’s been nearly a year since any were added, and the two non-fiction titles which have joined the ranks have been bubbling away in my mind since I read them – definitely worthy additions.

I spy The Hours! One of my favourites; I've been considering rereading it too and you may have just tipped me over edge… Would not have considered it a novella though!
Delighted you fit The Driver's Seat into your productive reading week – did The Loved One feature too? The former would feature on my 50 Books You Must Read But May Not Have Heard About.
I must confess I just recycled a picture from earlier in the week… but I did manage to read all the ones in the picture, except Quilt. And The Hours definitely doesn't really count as a novella in this case, since I read David Hare's screenplay…

I'm sorry to say I was a little disappointed in A Kid For Two Farthings. It was "okay" – I hate to give lukewarm book ratings, but it just didn't move me one way or the other. I was expecting more from it with its Bloomsbury Group label. Maybe that was it…too much hype?

Susan – oh, you HAVE finished it, ignore my comment on the previous post! Sorry you were disappointed, I was rather enamoured by it, although not in the same way as Miss Hargreaves, Henrietta, Mrs Tim etc.
