Forthcoming Dodie Smiths

Following on from my recent enthusiasm about Dodie Smith’s autobiography, I was excited when someone (Claire, I think, or maybe Verity) pointed me in the direction of Corsair’s new reprints of some obscure Dodie Smith novels.  I wrote about The Town in Bloom a while ago, which I thought started very well and got a bit worse, but lots of folk have told me that I should be reading The New Moon with the Old.  Once these come out on 15th March (or, more precisely, when Lent is over and I’m allowed to buy books again) these will definitely be flying their way to me.  I love the cover designs, and I really love the cheap price they’re going for at Amazon.  And I say that despite never having got around to sorting out an Amazon Affiliates account.

Anyway, still too under the weather to write much, so I’ll just leave you with the pictures…

I am so thrilled about these! And I absolutely love the covers! The New Moon with the Old was one of the first titles I put on my wishlist after I started blogging (though I now have no idea who recommended it to me) so I'm very excited that I'll soon have the chance to read it.

Rest up and get better soon!

Aren't they nice? I'll definitely be reading New Moon With the Old before too long – I think there may be a sudden influx of Dodie Smiths across the blogosphere!

Thank goodness a publisher is finally doing this! They might not be as good as I Capture the Castle, but at least we'll *know* now (!)

Think maybe I mentioned it to Claire and she mentioned it to you? I want them too and can't remember if I ordered them!

Ha! Well, if you (maybe) ordered through Amazon they now cleverly tell you at the top of the product page if you've ordered them.

I do hope this illness hasn't been brought on by the strain of attempting not to buy books for 6 weeks :) I find that reserving things at the library helps with the withdrawal symptoms.

ICTC is so lovely that we all want to find another version of it, don't we? I do hope these editions are as wonderful inside as out!

They do look lovely, and I've just read an old library copy of The New Moon With The Old, which I'd definitely recommend.

I just finished I Capture the Castle and it seems that was perfect timing now that there is some news of obscure rereleases. How exciting!

Wonderful! See, *I* finished ICTC nine years ago – and nothing was waiting for me. No fair!
