50 Books: winner

Thank you so much to everyone who entered the prize draw in celebration of the completed 50 Books You Must Read But May Not Have Heard About – it was such fun seeing which ones people had read, and which you’d choose to win.

I’m delighted to announce that the winner (drawn at random from random.org; too many entrants for Patch to cope with this time) is… Lynaia, who chose Frost at Morning as a prize. An excellent choice – but, of course, I’d say that for all of them!

Lynaia – I’ll be in touch.

    Congratulations, Lynaia!

Simon, congratulations again on completing the list. It was really interesting to read all the comments and see how many of us had been inspired by you to try titles we might otherwise never have heard of. Thank you for so many excellent reading experiences! I hope you keep expanding the list or form a new one because I can’t imagine you will stop discovering wonderful and obscure books to recommend.

Thanks so much, Claire :) I am still mulling over what to do next… it might just be another list, or something a bit different…

I’m extremely excited to have won the drawing. I haven’t read any of Richmal Crompton’s adult novels but I enjoyed the William books I’ve read and her adult novels have definitely been on my tbr list. Many other books on your list are on my tbr list as well but this seems to be a more difficult book to find here in the States so I chose it. Look forward to reading it. You’ve introduced me to many “new” exciting authors. Between you and Scott at Furrowed Middlebrow my tbr pile has grown by leaps and bounds. Happy times!

Excellent, Lynaia, it sounds like you’ll love the Crompton! I’ve sent a couple emails to you – have you got them? If not, give me an email at simonthomasoxford[at]gmail.com with your address and I’ll sort out the book :)
